3 Simple SEO Hacks To Boost Your Website’s Search Rankings

Did you know that 93% of online experiences begin with a search engine? That is why optimising your webpages to rank higher on search results is so important to the maintenance of your website!

Even though SEO processes are time-consuming and technical, there is no denying that they are an integral part of any brand’s digital marketing strategy. We’ve spoken before about why good copywriting and SEO is important for a website; but how do you actually go about implementing it? Here we have put together 3 simple SEO hacks that you can use to boost your website’s rankings in search engines below!

Use these SEO Hacks To Boost Your Website!

1. Research and Implement Relevant Keywords

A good keyword strategy is the foundation of successful SEO! Make sure you research what words and phrases your customers and potential buyers are typing into search engines and base your keyword strategy around this. Any given piece of content you then produce on your website can then be optimised for these keywords and terms! So for example if you run a bakery in London, you might want to try rank for the keyword ‘local bakery in London’ or ‘best bakeries in London.’

2. Optimise Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions

Once you know what keywords you want to rank for, you can start editing the webpage titles and meta descriptions on your website. We don’t mean the actual page title of your webpage, this is the HTML <title> element which can be found in your CMS or SEO plugin. Try to subtly add the keyword you want the page to rank for in the title and meta description – but not so that’s it’s at the expense of readability.

For example, a good meta title (max 60 characters) would be: ‘Pollen Bakery – local bakery in London.’ A good meta description (between 140 – 160 characters) to follow would be: ‘Pollen Bakery is a local bakery based in London. We serve fresh bread and cakes on weekdays, Monday to Friday. Why not pop in and try some?’

3. Optimise On-Page Content

Once your meta title and description are all optimised, you need to ensure your on-page content is too! It is here you should implement your keywords into the copy of your webpage but in a natural way of course! Ensure your keywords are optimised throughout, including:

  • Header Tags – H1, H2, H3 etc
  • Body – the text on the page
  • Images – the images you use
